I'm Eann, and I built The Cozy Cactus for one specific person: the tired parent scrolling Airbnb at midnight, hoping to find a place where she might rest.

After 146 guest stays and a 4.97 rating, I can tell you what that person keeps writing in her review when she leaves. The same three things, over and over, from strangers who don't know each other. That consistency means something. Here's what it is.

What Guests Say

Three things come up in reviews more than anything else:

The organization. Every drawer is labeled. Every cabinet. The pantry is stocked with the basics already there. I wanted guests to arrive and feel settled within the first ten minutes, not spend the first hour hunting for a spatula. For families especially, that small thing changes the energy of the whole trip. You're not piecing together someone else's half-finished kitchen. You're just... home.

The baby gear. Stokke high chair, pack-n-play with a real crib mattress, baby monitor, sound machine, baby gate, outlet covers. Multiple guests with infants have written some version of "I was able to relax for the first time in months." That's the goal. I watched too many friends pack for trips like they were moving apartments, hauling every single thing their babies needed. I decided to just put it all here, so they didn't have to.

How quickly they hear back. Guests mention that questions get answered fast. I take this one seriously. When someone is traveling with young kids and something isn't working, they need a real response, quickly. Not a form reply. Not an automated message. A person who knows the house and can help.

Every drawer labeled. Every cabinet stocked. The thing people mention most in reviews.

The Outdoor Space

The backyard has a private hot tub, a covered patio, a putting green, and a mural wall. The Indian Palms Country Club community pool is steps from the back gate, shared with the complex (it has hours, it's not heated year-round). This distinction matters: the hot tub is private and on the property. The pool is community access.

If you're looking for a private pool, Terra Luz is our other property 15 minutes away, with a private saltwater pool heated year-round. Different vibe, same neighborhood distance to Coachella.

The Space Itself

Three bedrooms, two baths, sleeps 8 comfortably. Primary has a king and an en-suite bathroom. Second bedroom is a king. Third bedroom has twin beds (plus a trundle, good for kids). The game room has activities for when the desert heat hits its peak in the afternoon and everyone needs to be inside for a few hours.

The kitchen is fully equipped for real cooking. Stocked pantry, sharpened knives, every pan size you'd reach for. I spent a lot of time in rental kitchens where you open the drawers and feel the absence of care. I wanted this one to feel like someone lived here and cooked here, because someone did.

The main living area. Comfortably fits 8 people without anyone feeling crowded.

Location

Indian Palms Country Club neighborhood. Gated, quiet, no through traffic. 7-10 minutes to Empire Polo Club (Coachella/Stagecoach) on surface streets with no freeway. 30 minutes to downtown Palm Springs. 5 minutes to Shields Date Garden.

During festival weekends especially, that proximity matters. You leave the property, you're there in 8 minutes. You come back, you're in your own backyard. There's something restoring about having a real home base to return to, rather than a hotel room, when the day has been long and the crowd has been big.

For more on the area, the Palm Springs vs Indio comparison breaks down where to base yourself and what's close to each. If you're coming for a festival, this breakdown of Stagecoach rental options puts the Indio proximity in concrete terms. What to Know Before You Book

A few things I want you to know before you arrive:

No pets at this property. If you're traveling with a dog, Terra Luz is pet-friendly ($100 fee, 2 dog max, fully fenced yard).

Check-in is 4pm, checkout 11am. Early and late are available with advance notice when the schedule allows. I ask that you reach out in advance rather than day-of, since same-day turnovers don't usually leave room for flexibility.

The neighborhood is gated. Gate access and all check-in instructions go out 24 hours before arrival. Self check-in via smart lock.

This is genuinely a family home. Not "family-friendly" as a phrase on a listing. Built from scratch around what families with young kids need, down to the sound machine on the nightstand and the outlet covers already in place. If you're traveling with people who matter most to you and you want a place that feels like it was ready for you, this is that place.

The Bigger Picture

The Cozy Cactus was built to give families somewhere to exhale. Somewhere that was already ready when they arrived, where the first night felt easy, and where the kids had something to do so the adults could sit on the patio with a glass of wine and feel, maybe for the first time in a while, like they were on vacation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does The Cozy Cactus have a private pool?

The hot tub is private and on the property. The pool is community access through Indian Palms Country Club, steps from the back gate. If a private swimming pool is the priority, Terra Luz is 15 minutes away and has a private saltwater pool heated year-round.

Is The Cozy Cactus pet-friendly?

No. Guests traveling with dogs should look at Terra Luz, which is pet-friendly with prior approval and a $100 pet fee. The Cozy Cactus has a fully fenced backyard but does not accept pets.

What is the minimum stay at The Cozy Cactus?

Minimum stays vary by season. During Coachella and Stagecoach festival weekends, the minimum is typically four nights. Off-peak periods often allow two or three-night stays. Current minimums are always visible when you search your specific dates.

How quickly does the host respond to questions?

Response time has consistently come up in guest reviews as a standout feature. Most questions get answered within the hour, including evenings and weekends. Pre-booking questions are welcome and often answered faster than through Airbnb's messaging system.

Can The Cozy Cactus accommodate a group for Coachella?

It sleeps up to 8 across three bedrooms and works well for groups. The Indian Palms location puts you about 2.5 miles from Empire Polo Club, and the walk to the festival entrance takes 25-45 minutes depending on where you're starting in the community.

That's what 4.97 stars across 146 stays looks like in practice. Not perfection in every sense. A specific kind of care that guests feel when they walk in the door, and that they write about when they leave.

If that's what you're looking for, check availability here or email us at indigopalmco@gmail.com. If you need a private pool instead of a hot tub, Terra Luz is the right fit.
